This month is Blue September, New Zealand’s Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. As a healthcare organisation, we work to encourage early diagnosis, screening and treatment.
Undergoing prostate cancer tests can be a stressful experience for many patients. The Prostate Clinic, part of Allevia Health, offers a streamlined testing process, fast-tracking diagnostics and reducing unnecessary appointments, providing patients with essential support during this time.
Led by specialists from the Urology Institute at OneSixOne Medical Group, the clinic combines expert urologists with a multi-disciplinary team for comprehensive care. Patients referred to the clinic will be assigned a nurse specialist from their first appointment, who will be their main point of contact throughout their journey, including post-surgery support for up to six months.
Patients will work together with a multidisciplinary team from Allevia Hospitals, Allevia Radiology, OneSixOne Medical Group, the Urology Institute, North MRI, Auckland Radiation Oncology, Canopy Cancer Care and Southern Cross Health Insurance.
