I have been working in full-time private practice as a colorectal and general surgeon in Auckland since 1995. I trained in Auckland before spending a number of years in the UK and Australia. I later undertook an advanced 2 year Colorectal Fellowship in Melbourne and Auckland.
The majority of my practice now is in colorectal surgery although I still maintain some aspects of general surgery such as laparoscopic herniae and pilonidal disease.
Colorectal surgery includes:
- Anal conditions such as haemorrhoids, fissures and fistulas
- Pelvic floor problems causing difficulty in defaecation or faecal incontinence
- Colorectal diseases such as bowel cancer and diverticular disease
- Endoscopy - gastroscopy, colonoscopy, with biopsy and/or removal of polyps
- Proctoscopy
