Works out of
Allevia Hospital Ascot
Dr Guy Fisher completed his medical training in New Zealand before undertaking further specialist training in London and Melbourne at internationally recognised centres for gynaecological surgery and ultrasound. He specialises in endometriosis, pelvic pain, and minimally invasive (endoscopic) surgery, with advanced ultrasound techniques integrated into diagnosis and treatment planning.
He is the only gynaecologist in New Zealand to have completed both:
- The AGES-accredited Advanced Endoscopic Surgery Training Program (AATP)
- The Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) through the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine
- This rare combination of advanced surgical and imaging training allows Dr Fisher to diagnose and treat complex conditions such as endometriosis, fibroids, and adenomyosis with a high level of precision.
In addition to private practice, Dr Fisher holds a public hospital appointment with Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau (Middlemore Hospital), where he has been appointed to develop and lead a new Gynaecology Assessment Unit for acute gynaecology and early pregnancy presentations, with ultrasound integrated at the core of assessment and decision-making. He also operates as part of the hospital’s specialist endometriosis team.
