Works out of
Allevia Hospital Ascot
David works as an orthopaedic specialist at Auckland City Hospital, specialising in complex trauma, and hip and knee arthroplasty. In private, David consults at Ascot Office Park, and is credentialled to operate at Allevia, Southern Cross, and Franklin Hospital.
David is originally from the UK. He graduated from the University of Nottingham, and commenced orthopaedic specialist training two years later in the Midlands Deanery. In 2013, midway through the UK orthopaedic training program, David came to New Zealand for a year of overseas training. During this 1 year planned visit, David decided that both the orthopaedic training and quality of life was far better in NZ, and so he decided to stay permanently.
David commenced the New Zealand Orthopaedic Association Training Program in 2015, and in 2021 gained his specialist qualification in Orthopaedic Surgery, and became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS).
Post-Fellowship Training
David completed a private fellowship with a high-volume arthroplasty surgeon in Auckland, prior to completing a one-year trauma fellowship in Waikato, and a one-year pelvic and acetabular trauma fellowship in Adelaide.
